Firefighter Development Programme

The Firefighter Development Programme is available to all 8 Scottish Fire and Rescue Services through the SFSC Learning Content Management System (LCMS).

There are 50 modules covering the subjects the Firefighter must complete to maintain competence. They are available on PDF and PowerPoint and can be facilitator led by the Watch Officer during training periods or used by individuals on the watch as e-learning modules.

There are recordable assessments at the end of each of the modules and a printable certificate can be generated and they are also electronically stored in the data bank.

The content and outcomes of the modules map across to the relevant National Occupational Standards, Role Maps and Generic Risk Assessments.

The acquisition of knowledge and understanding is applied and assessed in the workplace and is a truly integrated approach to learning and development.
